CSI Miami split screens

I like how the editors for the show "CSI Miami" split the screen up into several video clips and keyframe them to move around the screen usually to music when the actors are in the Lab working on some evidence.

Do you think they use some sort of template for each show? I tried to do something very similiar to how they do it and I cannot get it to look anything like the shows.

I am resizing my clips then I keyframe them to move about on the screen to music but sometimes one clip might not be the same size as the next clip and so on.

Would Motion be a better program to use for something like this?

If it can be done successfully in FCP, is there a way to save the effect as a favorite so I could use it again for anothe project where I would need the screen split up into various clips and moving around?

if you use motion 2 you can use camera movement wich may be easier to move around. you could just leave the clips in a stationary place in the plane and just move the camera. 1 keyframed object vs. multiples

Oh wow, I didnt know Motion2 had the camera movement....I thought that was new with Motion3
