CSI And Tarantino

Tonights seasnon finale of CSI is directed by Quentin Tarantino. The TV quide says he came up with the idea for the "explosive" ending. 2hour show. 7pm central time

Thanks for the reminder Zim. I havent watched CSi since the first season but this will be a treat. I wonder it will taste like QT?

CSI is one of the few shows that I watch, but lately it conficted with my required viewing of the John Gulager Comedy Hour. THat's over now, and I can't think of a better way to spend a thursday night than to see what QT does with previously well estabished characters.

With QT directing, perhaps one of the medical examiners will pounce on a corpse, give it a few kung-fu blows, talk an endless stream of recycled-pop-spew over a pointed gun, and then shoot himself.

I thought it was good, but no better than it normally is. Aside from the early conversation between Nick and Warrick, I didn't see much of QT.

Never bought for a second that they had found him when they found the dog.

if they found out there were explosives under the box from the dog one, how come it didn't explode when they dug it up, but nick's did?

I thought it totally had a Tarantino stamp to it.

- non linear(at the beginning)
- use of old music.
- dream sequence that was over the top combining humor with shocking images - not to mention in black and white.
- the scene in the locker room about missing his gun, total Tarantino dialogue.
- the line "having a Jack Handy moment".
- the episode was written as 2 titled as volumes 1 and 2.

direct kill bill 2 references:

- the line "normally you'd be 100% right, but today you are 100% wrong" - think of when Uma just found out she was pregnant.
- the cop at the beginning was Tommy the guy Uma was gonna marry at Two Pines(I think it is, but it isn't listed on imdb so it might not be).
- the cowboy lawyer for the courier was the guy who helped Madsen dig up Paula Schultz's grave. "White women call this the silent treatment".
- and lastly... the episode main plot revolved around someone being buried alive... which is exactly what happens to Uma in KB2.

Ican't argue with any of things. I guess this is still something I need to work on: I have a hard time looking at these things critically. I just get sucked in and go for the ride. Thanks for pointing them out. The out of sequence timeline should have been very obvious to me.

I loved the final episode myself! I caught some of the QT stamps, but not nearly as many as mentioned above. Everyone at the office was talking about it and I was happy to hear that some of them had even heard of Mr. Tarantino!

OK . . . did I miss something here? What about the two blonde girls tied up at the beginning? What happened with them?

I saw it as well and thought the dialogue at the beginnig with Nick and...was brutal. But talent could have been nervous with QT.
I thought the show was awesome and loved the non-linear editing/story development.

Also though the closing jail dialogue and scene was weak...but everything else was GREAT.

It ONLY takes a great story to make a great film.

I think the bit with the blondes at the beginning was just to show Grissom working on something. I guess he could just been at his desk cataloging more bugs...

I don't think that the talent was nervous; I think that the talent was frustrated. The dialogue QT pushed on these actors was nothing close to the characters they have been playing for the past few years.

I really liked QT's story, but his usually entertaining dialogue style feel flat for me because it was uncharacteristic for these people.

The script was written by someone else based on a story by QT. I never seen the show before but I like this episode. I really like the Lucio Fulci shirt the guy was wearing. I bet that reference went over 98% of viewers heads.
