CS6 Production Premium - Additional Assets to Download

Hello folks,

Just a reminder that if you first installed Adobe CS6 Production Premium from the 30 day trial, there are additional files that you need to download from Adobe after you purchase the package to get the complete install.

If you got ordered the upgrade via download, you should have received an e-mail from the Adobe Store with your CS6 upgrade serial number.

After you get the e-mail, you can log in to your Adobe ID account. Under "Orders", the software should be available to download. There ithere should be the main CS6 download file, along with 3 additional files that you should download.

If you purchased the DVD upgrade instead of the download, there are some additional files on the DVD's that don't automatically get installed when you install CS6.

There are 3 packages to download and install:

1) Illustrator fonts and components,

2) Premiere Pro components, and

3) Encore codecs and other components.

The Premiere Pro and Encore packages will self install.

For the Illustrator fonts, you can "Select All" in Windows Explorer, then "Right Click" and select "Install." The procedure is similar on the Mac, but I don't know all of the details there.

Best,
Michael

Hmmm... I installed from the DVDs and did an update and went to my orders... didn't see those files at all :(. Must be missing a step somewhere.

Hi Chuck,

I bought 5.5 and got a free upgrade to CS6. So I have the full CS6 suite, plus the additional files in 3 sets, available under "orders" to download.

I understand that the DVD's do not automatically install the extra fonts and codecs. I will try to find that reference, then we have to figure out where to get themm from ...

Trying to find the posts that I saw with info. More soon ..

Michael,

Thanks for looking. I'll check my spam folder. I upgraded from 5.5 suite as well, but the paid upgrade since I purchased 5.5 early on. I don't think that would make a difference however.

Chuck,

I removed the reference to the DVD's until I can confirm that detail.

As far as the DVD install: My understanding is that some additional components are not automatically installed with CS6. It is possible that is incorrect, or they could be included on an extra disk?

Here is a list of all of the components that ship with CS6, froom Adobe:

http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adob...tivesuite/pdfs/cs6/EN/DeploymentReference.pdf

The files that I downloaded and installed separetely from the CS6 package are:
AdobePremiereProFunctionalContent6.0All

AdobeEncoreFunctionalContent6All

I don't see those listed in the distribution reference. Instead there are two different versions of those files, "Trial" and "SupportAll"
AdobePremierePro6.0AllTrial.Core
AdobePremierePro6.0SupportAll

AdobeEncore6AllTrial.Core
AdobeEncore6SupportAll

The text for Encore6SupportAll is: "This payload is recommended in order to most efficiently utilize all workflows."

Thanks, there was an additional disk and it had the content you mentioned. I do appreciate the thread, because I would have missed these extras (at least for a while) without it.

Thanks, I'm glad you found the extra files. I was afraid I was misleading people. :)

I had heard that it wasn't automatically installed with the DVD's. Now we know where the extra files are!

I think that might be why some people are having trouble with Sony clips and maybe some other formats. There are a lot of additional codecs that get insatlled with the Encore portion.

I started by installing the 30 day trial. Then I just entered the serial number and kept using the installed trial software. The best approach might be to do a total uninstall, then load everything from the Adobe download site (or DVD's) once it is available.

I love CS6, great software. But as these packages get more and more complex it can be hard to keep track of all of the details!

Good luck!

This was very helpful. I originally downloaded the demo then registered it after the boxed version arrived and didn't know about the extra content. You will have to put the extras in the right folders for Premiere and Encore

Thanks!
