I'm starting a new project in CS6 with about 500GB of R3D 4K. As the project has been open, I noticed the space on HD quickly decreasing due to the Media Cache Files.

Is this just creating proxies for all my files and will I have issues with playback without them? Running an Mac Pro w/18GB ram.

Thanks!

Not proxies, no.

But if you delete them, PP will only recreate them when you reopen the project. Nothing you can do about that, so best to just leave them alone.
