Cs6 and AVCHD?

I've read there are problems with cs6 and AVCHD?
I'm shooting AVCHD with hmc150s and it works well with cs5.
Thinking of upgrading to cs6 but I need to know if there are still problems before I take the plunge.
Thank you in advance for any help.

There are certainly still all the problems that existed when the problems were first discovered. Nothing has been fixed. However, not all AVCHD exhibits the problem, and the HMC may be one of the 'working' variations.

Hopefully some one will shout up that they have been using HMC with CS6 and it's either good/bad. If not, some time over the weekend I'll grab some old HMC footage from our archives and test it for you.

If some one who is currently still shooting the HMC beats me too it then so much the better :)

Are you referring to Mac only? I haven't run into a single issue on CS6 with AVCHD footage from Canon or my GH2.

It happens from one of my Canon cameras on both windows and mac, so it's not a mac only problem ;)

As I recall, Jim has a GH2 ( ? ) that gives no problems with the footage, but I know of people have problems with "some" Canon & Sony cameras for sure.

I have Canon 5DmkIII and GH-1 footage on a short film I'm just getting back to working on. I had no problems playing either type of footage on my new wonder MBP 15" with CS6. I just installed an update over the last couple of days, but have not started up Premiere since... But then for some reason I had to reinstall the whole package even though I had bought the cloud subscription and had 'authorized' my computer at that time... don't know what happened.

I think the update is 6.01, so it could be an 'old' update that I just had to redo because of the reinstall.

CS6 Premiere Pro runs OK for me with 10.6.8

CS6 Premiere Pro runs OK for me with 10.6.8

FWIW, I am able to edit my GH2's .MTS files in CS6 Premiere Pro on my 6-core MacPro 5,1 desktop machine running OSX 10.6.8. Playback bogs down a bit with multiple video tracks and effects, but generally its stable.

I recently purchased Plural Eyes, which requires that I upgrade to OSX 10.7 (Lion) or 10.8 (Mountain Lion). Anyone have any thoughts on how Premiere Pro performs with 10.7 or 10.8, compared to 10.6.8?

The issue with AVCHD is spanned clips. Media from certain cameras exhibits playback difficulties. GH2 media works fine. I expect the HMC150 clips will as well, but again the trial should be installed and tested. That way the user will know for sure.

A big known bug is when you have a lot of clips in a folder that you try and access with the media browser. The media browser windows keeps refreshing back to the top which makes it pretty much useless. Also spanned clips don't transfer over when you use the project manager to create a trimmed project. Only the first clip in the spanned clip is transferred over which was a big shock to me when I had to go back to a project and noticed a bunch of media was missing.
