CS5 PP freezes on last frame of render

Hello Looking for any advice

I have a macbook pro 2.3gh I5 4gb 320HD and I am running CS5 premier pro

I have DVC Pro HD clips from my HPX170 in timelapse record I have a 4 min video

with about 10 clips I tried to speed up the first and last clips in this timeline to playback

at 300% speed but the render freezes on the last frame of either of the renders .

If I let the render continue even though it is stuck it will fill my startup disk up.

Somehow I have managed to get the first clip to render after doing a few other edits and coming

back to it. but I cant seem to get the last one it is slightly larger amount of frames but that cant

be the reason. I have done other cuts and fade in effects video brightness adjustment and a few

other edits and renders with no problems. so I am puzzled I have uninstalled and reinstalled and

updated software but still have the issue.

Anyone offer any advice it is greatly appreciated

You say a 320g hdd and it's filling up the drive. What compression are you using? And when you say render, are rendering the timeline (hitting return) or rendering for export?

I am merely rendering the timeline and edits done within not exporting anything as I dont even have a finished video.

The timeline is DVC Pro HD I have not changed anything for compression.

the last clip will usually renders to 98.75 % or the last frame when speeding up by 300% and CS5 hangs there if I leave it it has filled up my startup disk which i dont let happen, I simply cancel render and upon doing that PP and CS5 show as not responding and prett much freeze so then I have to force quite the program restart and hope I remembered to save all edits done before trying to render out the last clip at 300% speed.

As mentioned I finally got the first clip to render out at 300% speed after doing other edits and returning later to the edit and render but this last clip will not complete render.

So I am still baffled as I have done other edits and speed changes to clips and had them work out ok ... I am beginning to beleive it has something to do with the actually clip itself.

I have tried the same edit on three different Mac's with the same result

on a IMAC 21" dual core 3.06ghz 4gb 400HD nvidia graphics

a Macbook Pro dual core 2.0ghz 4gb 250HD GT320 or 330

and a Macbook Pro 2.3ghz I5 4gb 320HD intel 3000

all have the same result with this clip , I would appreciate if anyone could offer some insight

you say you have done it on different machines. did you move the entire project over? If so, then my suggestion would be to try editing that one clip in a new SEQUENCE, or maybe even in a completely new project. I have had funky things happen like that and it seems to help if you take it out of the environment it is in and do it on a fresh timeline.

First off I would like to thank you for taking the time to give me your opinion

I actually only tried the single clip within a new sequence for each machine

so three different projects , sequences and three different machines and the same outcome

Aside from trying the edit on CS5 on my PC I am unsure on what else I can do , I have thought

about encoding to a different video format for just the problem clip although DVC Pro HD is

probably one of the least computer taxing ( feel free to correct me if I am wrong ) .

I will continue the struggle and perhaps try my PC for just the single clip. Thank you to

everyone for the time and efforts in trying to assist me. I will update If I find the problem or

solution .
