CS5 error 16 fix

I have just installed the trial for CS5 and whenever I opened an application I got "error: 16". Here is the fix for this:

Windows Vista/Windows 7

1. Choose Start > Computer > Organize > Folder And Search Options, and then click the View tab.
2. In the Advanced Settings section, deselect the Use Sharing Wizard (Recommended) option and click OK.
3. Navigate to \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\.
4. Right-click the Adobe PCD folder and choose Properties.
5. In the Attributes section, deselect Read-Only, click Apply, and then click OK.
6. In the Security tab, make sure that Administrators and System are listed and permissions for security are set to Full Control. If not, do the following:
1. Click Edit.
2. If the User Account Control (UAC) elevation prompt appears, then follow the instructions to accept it.
3. Make the necessary changes.
7. Click Advanced.
8. In the Owner tab, click Edit and accept the UAC elevation prompt if it appears.
9. In the Change Owners Section, click Administrators.
10. Select the Replace Owner On Subcontainers and Objects option and then click Apply.
11. In the Permissions tab, click Edit and accept the UAC elevation prompt if it appears.
12. Select Replace Permission Entries On All Child Objects With Entries Shown Here That Apply To Child Objects.
13. Click OK and Yes until you have closed the FLEXnet Properties dialog box.
14. Launch your Adobe application.

Thanks, will add that to the ever growing list of how to fix random errors, in Prem etc. I have figured out rather than go searching if I have an error, if I collect and compile all the fixes people find as they find them it is much faster when I have a problem.

Thank you so much!

Thank you so much!

I spent over ten hours online, overnight, with Adobe Indian tech support, last week, trying to resolve this issue, unsuccessfully. During the call, I finished 1/3 bottle of Tanqueray, 1/4 bottle of Jose Cuervo Presidente Tradicional Tequila, and a couple more shots of El Hombre Tequila. Drunk off my butt by the end of the call, and hung-over like you wouldn't believe the next day.

All that, and it still wasn't working...

Your fix did the trick!

Thank you so much!

the step 12 (step 10 in windows xp) is problematic for me. I do not have "Replace Permission Entries On All Child Objects With Entries Shown Here That Apply To Child Objects" checkbox at all! Does someone know what am I missing?

Edit: Okay found it under "Permissions" tab. All is good. It works.
