CS5 and XP?

Any chance CS5 runs under XPx64 ? A few months ago, I was editing with CS4, XPx64 and a 512mb 8400GS budget card, and I could scrub the timeline with one track of AVCHD with zero problems, played out fine. Now, Win7x64, GTS250 , and it's playing back all blocky (I had the same results when I used the built-in video on this mobo, with the shared memory). I'll try one more thing and verify the video drivers are good (I know there was a bad release, quite sure I don't have those). I know I won't get good CUDA from my current card, but I don't see the value in upgrading if the OS is going to allow it to use system memory and bog everything down.

AMD X4 940, 8GB ram, OCZ-Turbo 60GB SSD, 256MB GTS250, various 7200RPM internal SataII drives.

Spec-wise, the hardware should be up for the job, but under Win7, something's not right.

Right click on the video in the Program panel and choose Playback Resolution > Full to solve the problem. Repeat for the Source. :)

Oh ya, did that, it doesn't really help at all. This motherboard, when i first got it (Asus M3A78 something) has on-board video. For a lark, I tried CS4 and AVCHD under XP, and playback was all blocky, which I figured would happen, sharing the system ram with video. No shock there. Then I dropped in the ECS NGTS250-512QX under XP, playback was smooth as silk for at least one video track (maybe even more). Switched to Win7, and it bogged down, as if it was still using system RAM for video use.

So I'm pretty much at the point where unless I can figure out why the combo of CS4/Win7/GTS250 is so underwhelming, I'm wary of even bothering with CS5 and a supported video card.
