CS5.5 (Mac) has a serious problem with some .MOV files. I know of at least 2 types that are problematic, native Nikon D7000 files and files transcoded to ProRes using ClipWrap. These files stutter like mad on playback in CS5.5, making them unusable. I don't know if this problem exists on the PC version.
There is a simple workaround, however. just rename the file from *.MOV to *.mpg. They will playback and edit normally.
The problem also shows up to a lesser degree in CS5 with clipwrap transcoded files, but the same workaround fixes the issue.
