CS5 30fps to 24fps conversion

Hi guys,

What is the best way to do a 30fps to 24fps conversion on CS5? I know, you will tell me that there are other applications that do this better, but I would appreciate if you could just answer the question that is being asked.

Put the 30 fps material in a 24 fps sequence and export as 24 fps.

However, the result probably won't be great, and it's not because of Premiere, or anything else you might use. It's because there's not enough difference between the two frame rates to have enough information for a good conversion. You're probably going to end up with strobing and ghosting, and it'll be worse the more motion you have. Just to warn you ahead of time.

Understood. One thing though, premiere has several projet presets for 24p. Is there a particular one that would be better? Also, would it be better to convert to 25p, 24p or 23.976?

Whichever one best matches the footage.

Converting to 25p will have the same problems, probably worse, because there's even less of a difference.

24p is 23.976. Don't try to force it to 24.000.
