CS4 Shutting down when starting a new project! Help!

I have googled this problem and can't seem to find a resolved answer so I figured I will take it here. Whenever i make a new project in premiere pro cs4 (full version) it does not load but instead cs4 just closes down with out even an error box. Heres a picture of it. I'm running on a PC 2.4 2 gigs of ram

so does anybody know how to fix this or what is wrong?? any help is much appreciated thanks

Has it ever worked properly before?

Have you tried uninstalling, then reinstalling?

Try resetting your workspace. This happens to me too once in a while. I think the windows load, but the coordinates are messed up so the are somewhere where you cant see them.

just want to confirm; this is a new project not existing, correct?

Yes it has worked properly before, I was hoping I wouldn't have to resort to re-installing but I just might have to

I tried re-setting the workspace and it comes up but then soon after cs4 still closes down

and yes this happens when I start a new project


this sucks especially when I have a project due for class Thursday!

try opening a file from the auto save folder. does premiere stay open or does it crash?

just tried opening from the auto-save folder, no luck...
