CS4 Encore auto play DVD problem?

I've searched this site and Adobe's help forums with little luck. I did find one thread on Adobe with the same question, but it died before being resolved.

I burned my DVD with what seems to be the proper settings for the menu and buttons, and all works well. What is NOT happening is the DVD auto-playing the menu when first inserted into a player. In other words, I have to press play to show the menu, otherwise nothing happens. Is this just the way it is, or am I missing something? Commercial DVDs seem to always play the menu upon insertion. One thread recomended to eliminate all override functions, as this may cause the behavior. I have no override functions set.

Any insight/help is appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure that "First Play" is set to the menu. Do a Check Project before burning to make sure that all the buttons are properly routed.

Thanks for the reply. The menu is set as first play. Check Project indicates no items found. As I stated earlier, everything works as expected, except for having to press the play button for the menu to show up after inserting the DVD into the player. Minor annoyance, but it would be nice for the menu to auto-play.
