Hi Everyone,
Can I use 24P, 30P and 60i all on the same timeline in Adobe Premiere CS3?
The reason I ask is because I'm going to shoot weddings with a DVX100b and am not quite sure what frame rate I should stay consistent with. If I decide to shoot say interview stuff in 24P in order to get the documentary look and then use 30P or 60i in order to get more light head room. Has anyone done this before, used all three frame rates on a timeline for export to dvd?
Thanks in advance for your assistance,
Len

Yeah, just use a 60i timeline in PPro, and be sure that when shooting 24p with the DVX that you use 24p mode and not 24pA mode. The 24pA mode would work OK, but can sometimes look a little funny when played back at 60i as it's really designed to be edited in a 24p timeline. There is no 30pA, so nothing to worry about there.

Exporting to DVD would just be a matter of selecting a 60i (read: 29.97i) output. Everything will look great.

HTH...

So in response to that, I shot 24pa and 60i and want to put them in the same timeline....And i know what you are saying about 24pa looking funny because the quality drops and you can totally tell that it's not digging the 60i timeline...

I really just wanted to get 60i footage to slow it down in post using AECS3...The 60i slomo looks great but I am having problems putting that footage and the 24pa footage in the same timeline in pp....

Is there a way to correct this with CS3? or am I totally out of luck? :dankk2:
