Crown PCC-160 for live theatre performance?

Does anybody have experience using the "industry standard" PCC 160 stage floor microphone for a live theatre application.

http://www.crownaudio.com/pdf/mics/101062.pdf

They rent them at VER (LA,) so someone is using them, but to what success?

We are doing an amateur performance of Julius Ceasar as part of a conference and I would like to capture the best sound possible with limited manpower I have at my disposal. The room I have has 18' ceilings, and rigging hanging mics doesn't excite me in the least. I have thought about wireless lavs but someone had told me I might run into phasing problems. (?)
So these floor mics seem ideal, in theory.

But if the consensus is that they aren't up to the task, any solution that doesn't require 2 boom operators will be greatly appreciated.

Thank In Advance

That would work , but be sure you place , several around the stage , place the mikes over some suspending material , to reed from legs bumps on the stage , the mike would work well if you have not to dip stage or the main action is not more then 5-6 feet for the mike , other vise you can hang another mike from the cilling in the back ground for back ground dyalog
of corse the acustics of the stage is importent as well
