Crowdsource Funding for Feature Films, Kickstarter etc

One more thing people might not be aware of, is FA, and probably many other fiscal sponsorships, have WAY cheaper production insurance than the quotes I got out in the market. Big benefit. And we're getting an annual policy out of it, so reshoots, etc are no prob.

RE: Materials provide by Fractured Atlas

That is a pretty cool program... wish I had access to something like it in Orlando. And that is a cool tip about the insurance rider- I will definitely look into that, thanks. I need to re-up my commercial policy for the studio, so it's good to know.

Okay- Very stoked right now. Just got accepted into kickstarter... We'll see how this goes. Using first campaign to fund additional episodes of a kids show I directed and co-produced called "Ms. Mola's Make-Ola"... Pilot running on PBS local stations in Daytona and Miami, and we have a station on board for filming in spring- this will hopefully help us across finish line...

Kickstarter Campaign for TV show successful

Kickstarter Campaign for TV show successful

Just a quick update on our crowdsource funding thread.

We recently had a pretty nice success on kickstarter for the Kids' TV Show I direct & co-produce called "Ms. Mola's Make-Ola." Check it out here:

We raised $10,235 from 71 backers (actually 80, some non computer folks pooled checks with other users). We reached 104% funding. Very cool!

I'm now planning to use the kickstarter crowdsourcing method for our two horror shorts:

www.ShedMovie.com
www.InnerBeautyMovie.com

I will have those campaigns up shortly.

Check out more about us at our link below...

Very cool indeed!

Money was collected by Amazon very quickly. All backers credit cards charged within 2 to 3 days of campaign end. As project organizer, you have access to all info as it happens through Amazon- you can withdraw money, see who paid when, whether anyone's card didn't go through, fees, etc. All visible in control panel at Amazon Payments. Pretty slick. Worth the approximate 3% collection fee.

To view your backer info like email addresses, shirt size (for t-short backer rewards) etc, just check out the Backer Report area at end of campaign. Tip: you can still post updates thanking people or posting new info, as well as ability to contact backers individually through the "manage campaign" section, even after campaign is over.

Final Update to this thread. All money collected smoothly via Amazon Payments. Successfully raised over 10K for the next episode of a Kid's TV show through kickstarter. I was director and co-producer of original pilot. More about show here:

I will try using kickstarter for our feature film project, details at CadenzaEntertainment.com if interested.
