I don't watch a lot of TV because it's too in your face with reality crap these days. I do bow to Charlie Rose, Tavis Smiley Pilot Guides (when it's Ian Wright) and lately Crossing Jordan. Am I delude or is this not good stuff? I love the stories, characters, acting, music all of this show is good stuff. Am I alone here or is Crossing Jordan not a rare gem in an otherwise silly medium?

Well the saying is "to each his own" right? That is what entertainment is after all. You dig it and that should be good enough for you. Look at the success of the mind numbing amount of reality shows that keep coming and coming! I personally hate them all - Someone must like them or they would disappear (oh god, please soon :
)
Now that said, IMHO I think the show is crap and fluff. Jill Hennessy is smoking hot so sometimes I watch :-[, but it won't save the show for me. But that is just my silly ass opinion...

I'm just overjoyed you don't like the reality shite ;D
But I know what you mean "to each thier own" lots of people I know thought "kill Bill" was the best thing to come down the pike. To me it was god awful (not Uma) If you take out the fight scenes and special effect / fluff, you've not got much left to rave about. I guess I'm one of those throwbacks who still is moved by a good story. Everthing i see today is a concatenation of fast edits, FX with smatterings of TNA stirred into a healthy broth of mindless violence. Jordan still seems to have some story to it? :-/

I wonder if it's not because it's cheaper to produce...No stars getting billions per season?

Totally cheap! That's why we are getting saturated by them. Make money even with mild ratings. But I seen on CNN that they are on the way out as even the Jerry Springer crowd is getting tired of them.

...and 98% of them are shot on video so production costs are way lower than a film based series, so more money in the networks pocket to buy more crap.

That reminds me of the time when I was at the Playboy Mansion, It was the same night that jill Hennessy showed up and Uma Thurman and oh who else...Oh yes...Natalie Portman...and then this weird australian guy started asking me what it was like to rich and famous, since I had'nt put the club on the rolls I hit him with it. Thought I was in a spot of trouble for a moment but Jill came to the rescue and invited me to leave with her and have a romantic dinner. After Dinner... I woke up to the sound of my girlfriend growling "who the F*%k is Jill.
