Cropping a 4:3 image for 35mm transfer

Hi guys,

Suppose you have shot your movie at 4:3 and you want it to be transferred to 35mm. How exactly do you crop it in FCP? I am not talking about adding letter box to the movie.
What is the procedure in FCP?

If it is 4:3 footage, it will get cropped during the film transfer. Ideally you would shoot anamorphic to avoid any cropping. But there is nothing you can really do to 4:3 footage, it just gets cropped in the process.

Thanks for the reply. I was just wondering what other people were talking about when they said that the film 'November' was cropped in post.
