Crop circles?

this is the most ridiculous discussion i've ever heard. people don't need to "create them overnight". since crop fields are out in the middle of nowhere and nobody cares what's happening in someone else's crop field, they have days if not weeks to complete their designs. once they finish, they tell the neighbors "look what happened last night!"

crop circles. give me a break.

Didn't any of you guys watch Signs? That corn was bent and not broken. I don't think Shyamalan got aliens to make his crop circles for him. Didn't you watch the making of on the DVD?

Come on guys, the movies explain everything!
 
I feel so ashamed...My Daddy was a crop circle maker and his daddy before him. Why couldn't they just have been ****ing milkmen or postmen like all the other fathers? But no...My daddy had to go out every night with a flashlight, some string and a freaking plank. I'll never live this down....You may as well know the truth...I AM A CROP CIRCLE MAKER! There I've said it...Now you know. We spray all the cornstalks with water first so as not to snap them, after that it's all geometry, string and planks...Oh and go to the pub after the circle is done, NEVER before.
 
Well....after reading all the info presented here by Hans I have to admit the jury seems to be back on the bench with a verdict...It's a Hoax, I stand corrected. I still can't decide though if they are doing it to fool the rest of the world into believing it is the work of aliens or if the rest of the worlds verdict is a by product of the unexplained. Sticks and string a nd a little geometry who would have guesed?
 
What, you guys don't believe that the large amounts of water (a polar molecule) in corn can be attracted by localized electrical or magnetic fields to form Nature's mathematical wonders (known as fractals) on a grand scale that we haven't seen since the mega-glyphs of the Nazca Plain? What about the Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz, CA? Next you'll be saying that cold fusion was a hoax.

Uh, wait a minute... never mind.
 
In one of the documentaries, a couple of guys who do these things all the time were proving it could be done in a few hours with simple tools, and a group of people who deeply believe they were created by aliens actually showed up and started harassing them and throwing things at them.
