crocodile tears

I guess it's not rocket science, but what would be the best way to give a non-actor fake tears? In the context of the scene, it doesn't HAVE to look convincing, but the more convincing it is, the funnier it will be.

Onions, pepper, glycerine from an eye dropper?

Any thoughts appreciated!

(of course, there's always drawing on past experience...but remember I said this was a non-actor...)

Apparently the soap dramas here in Australia use a small fan thingo to blow eucalyptus vapour onto the actors face to make their eyes water.

Glycerine from an eye dropper usually works.

Remember that even many professional actors can't just cry on call - that's really tough, and when they do it may only be once.

This is the "standard" way it's done. Or pulling out a nose hair (j/k). Gotta watch the timing though, once the glycerine warms up on the actor's face it runs pretty quick.
