critique my website

I'm getting some new business cards made, and that got me thinking "hey I should put my website and email on the cards...hmm I don't have a website..ok better throw something together"

I whipped this up in an hour, it's kinda plain but functional and easy to manage.

Let me know your impressions. I like harsh feedback! :kali: :nads: :badputer:

intended audience: I don't do freelance/weddings/events, and I'm not looking for clients. I'm just making a webspace to share my stuff and let people know what I'm up to, and to get a customized email.

Well if you're not looking for clients and sharing stuff it's not to bad. I would add more color then go for the dark look.

I would round the small images if your going to do that style - I also would use CSS to Get your main text links looking pretty - nice job overall.

Looks good, your name is kinda hard to read, but just a touch of contrast will fix that. I would drop the outline on the text. Also, the star doesn't make any sense. There's really no reason that it should be there as it serves no purpose to the design.

yeah I will blend the small images more, probably by rounding. I was using the star to try to balance out the right half, I'll try something else in that spot. And CSS text is a good idea to spruce it up. Thanks all

The graphic at the top is VERY large.
I'd personally cut that down a bit. Especially if you're staying with the
tight vertical layout.

good point. I was making this on a mega resolution monitor but it should probably be 1024x768 friendly...I dunno what's the norm nowadays?

looks good, maybe ad some more content and key words so google picks it up eaiser?.. if you want it on google
