Obviously they were just using a standard L.A. rate sheet . . . an totally understandable mistake.
 
It would be nice if a professional journalist learned how to spell... "a pass trough company" Was it a western?
 
I'll bet if they called that broom an SR71 or B2 they could have gotten away with charging more, a lot more than a C47/8.

Those are stealth tactics for the non IRS readers.
