I have some footage of a singer recorded in a recording studio that I want a "silhouette" effect applied to it. Can anyone lead me in the rite directions on where I can start trying to figure out how to achieve this look?

Thanks

FCP wouldn't be the ideal program to do this effect. Use a compositing program if you want to achieve this

No one said it was going to be ideal or easy, but I know there are Final Cut Pro users out there who know how to achieve this look within the program.

Without seeing the shot, it looks like a rotoscoping job. Since FCP has zero rotoscoping tools, you're not going to do this in FCP. You might be able to do it with Motion, but it's going to take a lot of time & effort.

Take a look at Mocha for automated rotoscoping tools.

I was just trying to offer my advice here but I have never heard of anyone mentioning FCP to create a silhouette unless the shot was a keyed clip or green shot. Like the post after me, u are giving us little to go off of so ur best bet is probably Motion, AE, Mocha or Silhouette FX. Your welcome.
