Creating AVCHD DVDs for PS3 playback

I want to burn a AVCHD video (from a HF100) to DVD for playback on a PS3. I copied the folder contents keeping "AVCHD" as the main root directory (everything else as the camera has it). Playing it back on the PS3, rather than playing as media (like a SD card or attached camera) the DVD shows up as a DATA CD. I can play the MTS files as clips, but with this method there is a freeze frame between clips (similar to hard drive playback). I need the AVCHD file to show up as media (not data) for smooth transitions.

I've read its possible to do, but how? Also I'm on a Mac (shouldn't matter for this).

TSMuxer has a mac version

If you have individual clips (e.g. from a camcorder), you can append them first in tsmuxer using "join"

Great. Have any personal experience using it? Does it effect the video in any way?

Yes, on Windows

It does no re-encoding (no generation loss) if that's what you are asking, it just authors the structure for an AVCHD (or blu-ray) disk

If you have access to Windows, another great program is multiavchd, you can even do simple menus
