Creating a timelapse on PS3?

I just hacked my Canon A630 to shoot sequences and I wanted to know if I can create a timelapse in PS3... is that possible?
 
you can do it in quicktime pro. it's file/open image sequence.. select the first image in the sequence then tell it what framerate you want it to play back. then you can crop, scale, and compress to whatever format you want. i have made some really nice 3k timelapses with my nikon d50 this way.

I am sure there is a way... after all it is a computer... these guys have anything, from smaller ISO increments, shooting RAW, to playing checkers on your camera, to being able to write your own scripts to make it do whatever you can imagine with it's abilities.

BTW, I got QT to save, hopefully I'll figure out what it was that I did wrong cause I am not so sure yet.
