Hello all,
I am putting together a production kit and need some help from you guys. I've bene out of the purchasing and researching realm for a long while. I have been working with a inner-city youth place where i live for the last couple of years and they really like the videos i make for them every now and again and said if i partner with them for a couple years they would buy the gear I need. They didn't give me a budget max, but I would like to keep it reasonable...around that 10k mark.
They would be a WIDE range of videos, from interviews, to motivational stuff, short films, promotional videos, really anything. I would be working with the inner-city place while also doing my own stuff with it. I am hoping to be able to afford, with their money, a camera, tripod, and shotgun mic(s). It would be in a perfect world if I could throw in some lighting and a lav mic, but we'll see. But I am willing to pick some stuff up on my own tab so I don't break the bank with them. I'm not looking for the most expensive stuff but some good equipment to start with.
I have a couple cameras in mind:
JVC GY-HM700UXT (comes out in june)
Sony PMW-EX1
Panasonic HVX200A
The rest of the stuff, mics, lights and tripod, I am open to what people have experience with. Thanks everyone!
I realize there are endless possibilities to this predicament, but even helping me narrow my researching would greatly help.
