creating a newspaper clipping

I don't know about photo shop but if you can get some blank newsprint-the stuff they use to wrap fish in you can create your own.

See below and you can age your clip as well.

Choose a decent font that looks like what they use in the paper--Arial won't do, Times New Roman is closer.

Create your newspaper clipping. Microsoft Publisher works if you want to have a column or two or three.

Print it out with a laser printer.

An old typewriter works even better.

Cut out your clipping.

Brew some tea, just a bag or two. Lipton's or Red Rose, not that fancy herbal stuff that they're serving at Fivebucks.

Let the tea cool to room temperature.

Place your clipping in a shallow dish with a flat bottom.

Gently pour the tea in on top. Not directly onto the paper, but beside your clipping.

When the clipping is aged properly, (color that you want) remove from tea bath.

Gently shake off excess tea.

Place clipping on a flat surface.

Cover with plastic wrap and place a stack of books on top of the plastic wrap so that the clipping doesn't curl as it dries.

Periodically, remove the books and the plastic wrap to let the clipping air out a bit.

When dry, remove the stack of books and you have an old clipping that says what you want it to say.

This is an old forgers trick.

P.S. I wouldn't advise making iced tea out of the leftover tea.

You can pick up some news print from your local Newspaper, they have plenty that gets tossed from each run. To age it, try Lemon Juice.

Get a book of newsprint from any art supply store -- it's a drawing pad used for charcoal sketches and such. Tear out a page, fold it so it fits in your printer, and print your own 'newspaper'. I did this for my short 'Night Watch', and it turned out great.

Good luck!
