I need help!
I'm using Premiere 6.0 -- not Pro -- and I don't have AE.
I have a scene with two people, one of whom -- the girl -- is supposed to be a ghost. She is dressed in an all-white gown. I need to make her look as ghostly as possible.
My thought is to use a track matte with two copies of the same clip of the scene. On one copy I'll apply some coloring and blur effects, and maybe ghosting. When that copy shows through the matte, I'm hoping it will make my 'ghost' look more surreal.
It's not a locked shot. The 'ghost' steps into the frame and the camera pans as she moves a couple steps closer to the guy. At one point she reaches out and touches hands with the guy. So I'm thinking a track matte is my only hope.
Can anyone out there help me figure out how to do this? I do have PhotoShop, but am a total novice at using it. What I need, basically, is a fuzzy-edged matte that is shaped more or less like a fat rounded cone. But it needs to transition to a shape that will also emcompass the girl's hands when she reaches out.
It would be great if I could figure out how to somehow do a version of the clip where she is turned into a black silhouette against a white background. I could maybe then use that as the matte, and it would conform exactly to her shape and position as she moves.
Anyway, any ideas and suggestions would really be appreciated. Thanks!
