Create fake car accident - help!

Hi there,

I'm making a music video, and in this video I need to create a realistic intersection accident, where a pedestrian crossing the road will be hit by a car that accidentally runs a red. After a couple of seconds of lying on the ground, the pedestrian, unharmed, will get up and dust himself off and continue his journey across the street. I want to shoot this without making a cut. No angle changes. The angle of this shot is a bids eye view.

Here is an example of the kind of aesthetic I am going for:

Kind of like that but with less shrapnel.

What is the best way to recreate this? What are my options? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm certainly no expert on effects but my first thought would be to lock your camera down and shoot twice. First time, car comes along and stops suddenly. Second time, guy walks into intersection and "gets hit." Composite. Use the puppet tool in AE to affect the car.

I would keep in mind that the reason to do it in one shot is because it makes it more realistic. But if you can't pull off the effect flawlessly, then there's no point in shooting it that way.

So good luck, I hope you pull it off.

Thanks for all the help!

Thing is, I'm not sure how relevant the videocopilot tutorial is to the scene I want to produce because I'm not hitting the character off screen. Is it possible to fake the crash and have the character come back to life after being hit by the car, while still having the scene look seamless and real?
