Creamsource SpaceX

This light looks interesting to me as an alternative to an Arri Skypanel S60. Compared to the Skypanel with ballast, it's about the same weight, it's $6500 vs $5850 for the Skypanel, but the big part for me is that it has a 1200w power draw compared to the Skypanel at 425-450w, making the power almost three times as much, which without knowing photometrics or efficiency, would theoretically also make the light almost three times brighter.

At 1200w you could practically compare this light to the 1500w Skypanel S360 at $19,780 and 115 lbs.

It has six different light sources so perhaps an issue if trying to light bare in terms of shadows. On the positive side, it has a choice of 115 degree and 50 degree beam angle.

Five year warranty and what looks like rock solid build quality.

Thoughts?

That looks like an output monster and we all know that Creamsource makes very nice instruments. Just wish is was more affordable, that's fairly expensive, although not compared to big HMIs.

I think it'll be a fantastic option for balancing daytime interiors. The punch of a 1200w HMI, without the same space requirements to spread and diffuse the beam.

Great price too.

It costs less than either of my last two 800 watt HMI's, individually.
