Crazy idea for doorway dolly

I've been thinking about putting together a professional quality doorway dolly, but could never figure out a simple way to put together the steering assembly. Here's my idea:

Mount that onto a piece of plywood and the steering system is good to go. I'm still in the planning stages right now, but tell me what you think.
