Crazy artifacts

Hi,
I am getting some crazy arifacts with my new GH1 as can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TW7_uvONpDQ

This is a short section within the clip. ISO 800, 60 FPS
My PC is a new quad core i7 with 12 GB of RAM.

Now whats strange is I get different levels of artifacts. Here is what I have tried:
1. WMP - no artifacts on teh MTS file
2. Vegas 'Project Media' preview - almost none, just a few milliseconds of 'strobing'
3. Vegas trimmer - same as above
4. Vegas timline 'video review' - a bit more. Some of extreme angled banding you can see in the clip
5. Rendered WMV - pretty bad but not quite as bad as the clip
6. Rendered AVI - terrible, as you can see in the clip.

Any ideas?

It's a bug in the 64-bit version of Vegas 9.0c. Run the 32-bit or wait for the fix (I've reported the bug to Sony).

Hard to say how the prioritize bugs. I can't hurt. I got the following response:

Hi Tomi,

Thank you for contacting Sony Creative Software.

Thank you for reporting this issue and getting back to us with the details of the circumstances under which the symptoms are occurring. This issue has been reproduced and logged into our known issue database, to be resolved in a future update of the application.

I recommend either working with these particular files in the 32 bit version of the Vegas application, or rendering to AVI with the same frame size and characteristics for editing purposes in a 64 bit environment, as a temporary work around until the issue is resolved.

If you still have a follow-up question on this particular incident, please feel free to update it. If you have a completely different question, please create a new incident.

UPDATE, in case anyone searches these posts with similar problems.

This is definitely an issue with the GH1 MTS files. If I convert them to AVI before importing into Vegas they work fine.

I also filed a bug report.

Another Update:
MOV files worked in my small test sample but when I started a real project they kept losing preview. This was with 9c 64 bit. From what I've read this seems to be a known issue.

I downgraded to 32 bit and, as mentioned above, my MTS files work great. No conversion required.
