When the trailer for "Crawl" came out I thought it might be worth a look. I also spotted Sam Raimi's name in the credits as producer, and for me that's always a plus. My wife and I gave it a shot and it was a fun, nerve wracking roller coaster movie. Maybe not for folks expecting an instant classic, but definitely entertaining. The cinematography was well done, atmospheric and spooky, especially as the hurricane pounds down on the area. The underwater murky stuff was just right. The CG alligators and water interaction were flawless. The jump scares in this movie were well motivated, not just cheap throwaways. Some parts were a little 'talky' and 'on the nose', i.e. the Dad giving his college age daughter a pep talk, but that could just be the cynic in me. I really liked it and think it's worth a watch in the theater with an audience of fellow horror/thriller fans.
