Crash Contest

I'm a regular poster and avid reader, so I thought this might be the perfect place to post a little info on something we're doing over at Coudal Partners.

It's a quick, fun little editing contest where you take a piece of old educational film, "Joyride," found on Archive.org and edited it however you see fit. Has to be a minute or under, and in by Monday, but those are the only rules. The best entry gets a 100 pack of Jewelboxing cases.

If that sounds at all of interest, take a look here: Crash Ballet Contest

sounds like fun. the rules don't state whether or not you can use copyrighted music. i am assuming it's okay? they kind of eluded to that.

Haha!
You won't believe it. This tuesday night, I was with a friend and we had this contest of who could bounce off the wall and jump the furthest. Yeah, pretty damn stupid; I won, but I woke up wednesday in pieces, I could barely walk. Anyways, it was for artistic reasons. We were taking pictures, and they look cool. But they are stills, not video.

Second, you know 'guided by voices'? I think they're a pretty cool band. I liked how they got picked as one of the ten best of the year by an artforum critic.

So, can I send a video ( made out of stills ) of about 15sec long? And send it through email instead of posting a link? I'm pretty sure they fit into the category of Crash Ballet!

Later.

Yeah, submit whatever you'd like and use whatever music you'd like (we didn't license Guided by Voices, so we're guilty of it already). It's not for any commercial use, just for fun, so send along whatever you please. The e-mail address where to provide entries to is on the page. Looking forward to it!
