Looking at your list there I feel compelled to mention that I don't imagine that these actors are hired for their acting ability.

:smiley_up sounds like the great truth!

I had the chance to see Keanu Reeves on set not too long ago -
and I have to say I was impressed with the amount of care and energy he put into his performance.
He definitely takes his craft seriously.

I guess my point is, while many may not think these people have talent -
it doesn't mean they don't give it their all.
After seeing him work, I can see why people would enjoy working with him.

But of course I don't think ANYONE is worth the money they are paid in films today -
that goes for actors and directors.
It's obscene.

I'm about to put Big Bad Mama in the player. 21 days, less than half a mil to make.

That's how you make movies. Get actors who can act, have a good story, and screw the big budget.

Roger Corman never lost any money, right? 400 films and he never lost a dime.

I, for one, will never contact an actor and bribe them to be in a film. It'll just be Wanna be in it? Here's what I'll pay.

If they say No, call the next one on the list.

There are actors (directors, cinematographers, etc etc etc) who actually want to act (etc etc etc), not just make money.

Of course, I'll have to have something people would want to be in in the first place.

How can you include Keanu Reeves when he acted in what was probably the greatest scene in all of cinema. I'm referring to the "I want room service" scene in "Johnny Mnemonic". It spoke to anyone who was on the road in the cold with no money.

I'm not a huge fan of Nicholas Cage, not at all. Of course there is always 1 or 2 exception movies but really, play a different character.

I couldn't agree more! I was just going to mention him. Lots of actors play the same character in every movie, but the character he plays annoys the hell out of me. He always delivers his lines like a dim-witted Southerner on NyQuil.

I can't see anybody else as Neo, except Reeves.

But, everything else he flat out poo pooing stinks.

I thought he was good in The Gift, but crappy in everything else.

What do you think of Denzel Washington, because I've started to notice that he actually acts very similar in most of his movies. It really shows in his later ones or Post training day movies

I think Denzel is the man.
I'll see a film just if he's in it.
He's one of my favs.

He's one of the best out there.
You can always count on a great performance.
