Craigs list?

Just sold my GH1 kit lens for $600 to some stranger who texted me through craigs list. I'm a little scared since this is my first time meeting through a anonymous site. This guy seemed a little eager to meet. He first said $575 and I agreed and I told him that I changed my mind to $600 and he agreed.
Am I just taking this all out of proportion. I've done a meet and trade through dvx, but you can trust most people on here. Anyone here can tell me if craigs is reliable or not?
 
I think it really depends....I have sold three cars, two motorcycles, and a handful of smaller things all through craigslist and have never had any problems, and I have bought three motorcycles and two cars and some electronics the same way. I am always cautious, and take down someone's info if it is a bigger item just in case, but all in all it is pretty safe. Just make sure to meet somewhere very public and you won't have a problem.
 
Alright, I've set up the meeting in a town center near where I live, and I'm making my friend drive me there just in case... :)

Meet during the day, meet in a public area (supermarket parking lot, Starbucks, etc.)... both of which you appear to be doing. Every bad story I've ever heard involved meeting at your home, at night, or in a sketchy area.

Haha i mean it might be a bit cautious but that will keep you safe for sure.....yah do you ride? I'm actually right by you, out in Costa Mesa.
 
I just bought my Jeep Cherokee from CL 3 days ago. I am happy, though I was nervous about the deal at first. But when the seller showed up at my house (Flintridge-LaCanada to Riverside) with his 2 young kids in the vehicle, I knew things weren't as bad as I thought. I bought a '91 Jeep (with a straight 6 in it) for 800.00. Full title. I am satisfied.
 
I've sold so much stuff off Craigs. Meet in front of my apartment, in my place, out at a park, some place half-way drive for them. For expensive items it's a good idea to have someone with you. When my son sold his set of tires he asked me to come along. Yes, I'm muscle, ha ha.

It's just a good idea to be safe, but seriously, I never ever had a problem selling on Craigs. Sold my HVX locally and a ton of my toys, expensive ones at that. Actually met some nice people, guy from Discovery channel, etc.
 
Have a friend with a rifle positioned about 500 yards out to provide overwatch. Can't be too careful, nowadays.
 
Park in spot #23 at the Falls Church Pic 'n' Save. Leave the car for 15 minutes and when you return there will be a copy under your driver's side windshield wiper.

Be sure to check out the valuable local businesses' coupons, in the back.

Ahah maybe a bit? I don't ride but i want to. I'm still a kid lol, but people usually dont realize that. :) getting my license this week.
