CPA recommendations

Hey gang,

I've decided to follow all the good advice thats been given on this forum and find a CPA to do my taxes.
I, also, *finally* got all my 1099's in from my clients.
I'm having trouble finding where to go to get a good CPA in the Phoenix area.

Does anyone have a good recommendation of a local CPA here in Phoenix, or any good ideas where to find one? -espcially one who works with either free-lancers or small businesses.

Thanks in advance...
Mike

Strangely enough,
I have asked 4 people in the area, 2 of them told me their CPA's were indicted for wrong-doing and now are awaiting an audit, and the other two haven't gotten back to me.
Something must be in the Arizona water.

Thanks,
Mike

When did they get water in Arizona!?

I found mine by asking my insurance agent who did his agency's taxes.

I went through the Arizona small business association and got the name of a guy.
I just got off the phone with him after receiving a thourough tounge-lashing. I'm apparently doing absolutely everything wrong. I feel like I'm back in Catholic school and the nuns have had their way with my knuckles. (no offense)
I guess the lesson is to get a CPA *before* you need to worry about taxes.

Good luck all,
Mike

Then I'd get the name of another guy - sheesh...you don't need to be ballbusted for never having gone through this before. Surely there is a decent honest CPA out there who'd be happy and willing to help out.

LOL...
ummmmm...thanks Noel, but I think you're probably right. I'm pretty sure the rules in Tokyo are somewhat different than the rules in Phoenix.

One of my co-workers did come though with the name of a guy and he seems really solid. I bombarded him with almost 2 hours of questions and he patiently went through every bit of it with me, well worth the $270.

Good luck all,
Mike
