Covering peoples tracks when shooting in snow

I was wondering if there is a very low budget solution for this

I'd use a snow shovel.

Or choose a big enough location that you can just move to a nearby undisturbed bit of snow - presuming that won't cause continuity issues with backgrounds etc.
