Can I upgrade from 6.5 to pro 2.0? Do you think i could posibly get a student discount on an upgrade?

Oh and about 24P. Can you edit in 24P and export to 30 without screwing up the speed of the video/audio? If so how does it stick with the "film look".

Meh, these are probably stupid questions, but hey, i gotta start somewhere.

I can't say much about working with 24p, as I don't use it. As far as upgrading, the answer is yes. I just upgraded from 6.1 to pp2.

There isn't really a short answer, the DVX records everything, 24p, 24pa, 30p, and 60i, at 29.97. When you bring your footage into Premiere, you can choose to edit in a 29.97 timeline, and everything will look great. 24p will look like film, 30p will sort of look like film, and 60i will look like live video. You also have the option to edit your 24p footage in a 23.976 timeline. There is a pulldown added to 24p footage so that it can run at 29.97, Premiere will remove that pulldown to give you the original 24 frames. Shooting 24pa will yield better results for this.

A good rule of thumb...shoot 60i, 30p, 24p, edit in a regular 29.97 timeline.
Shoot 24pa, edit in a 23.976 timeline. Although you can edit 24p normal in a 23.976 timeline, and you can edit 24pa in a 29.97 timeline.

Hope I didn't confuse you more. Good luck and have fun.
