Countryman EMW vs. Isomax-II

I've heard very good things about the EMW, what about the countryman isomax-II. How do the two compare? I will be doing mostly indoor interview stuff but some outdoor things as well.

Can someone tell me what sounds better, Flat, shelved up or peaked-response. I don't care if the mic is visable or not, I just want what sounds the best. Thanks

Luke

I can only speak for the EMW. I have a peaked one. As per the CM site, the flat is used for instruments, shelved is for normal lav work, and peaked is for behind clothing. I haven't used the E6 but I only hear good things about. It would probably give more consistent results.

I like it. I bought it for one thing I was doing. I don't do too much lav work, and getting rid of clothes russle is always work (sit downs are not too hard). That's why the E6 might be better if you can get away with it.

If I had it to do again, I would buy two B6s. I say two, because now I have only one lav. Other shoots need two people and I'm stuck with one lav. I still might pick up a B6 and IF they sound that different, it will be hidden by the differences in the voices. Still for me it's an issue of dollars.

Just ordered the B6(wired) from Northern Sound & Light for about $240. They have some great service, plus free shipping!

Hey, I have the AT899 and for the price, it kicks some major @$$. I would say it approaches the countryman...
