Countdown Leader as an asset.

Can I create a Countdown leader as an asset? (ie a .mov file)

I use countdowns a lot and I am used to having one as an asset that I import and reuse constantly.

I also need to find out how to create an ID template (as an asset) to which I can changeout the details. This usually used in conjunction with the "stock" Countdown leader

Hope someone can put me on the right track here.

Obviously no solution in FCP but problem solved...

I bought and installed Adobe CS3 (Mac) to compliment FCP Suite 2 and I am back on familiar ground with some very interesting workflows and potential.

If you look on the FCP install disk and look around in the cinema tools folders there is a countdown leader that can be copied to a asset folder of your choice. Also if you use print to tape you can tag a countdown leader and a ID plate right onto the front of you vid.

Thanx - I will take a look for it as you suggest.

I was aware of print to tape option but it does not suit my purposes. I have the need to apply a SMPTE style Countdown Leader with an overlayed ID board on the head of all my submasters (TVC's). Hence the need for both as stock templates that I can quickly composite to gether.

I am considering generating some Countdowns in my Premiere Windows Suite and using them in .mov form. Funnily enought Premiere CS3 MAc version can not create them either. Must be a Mac thing. ( I thought from the ads that MAcs were "perfect). Yeh Right !.

Good suggestion but they are all Cinema , 24 fps and NTSC. I need a 25 fps based Leader for PAL TV. I will have to make my own in Premiere and create the asset that way.
