Could I use?

I was wondering if I could download the P2 Card into my Gateway laptop during field use and when I got back to the base camp download the footage onto my Mac - FCS 2?

Would this be the issue of having to have two different softwares set-up for PC/Mac or would I be able to get some kind of storage unit that would hold my footage until I got back?

Yes that works fine, and is in fact my preferred and recommended workflow for Mac users. Any external hard disk will work for this, just make sure the hard drive is formatted FAT32. (any hard disk you buy new should be preformatted FAT32).
