Costco landscape lighting kit

Costco sells a landscape lighting kit containing;
2 spotlight fixtures with 20W G4 halogen bulbs
4 accent light fixtures with 10W G4 halogen bulbs
one 100Watt transformer
50 feet of cable
for about $50 Canadian.

All the equipment is black.

It should be easy to rig extensions around the fixtures
for clipping gells and filters.

(What is obviously missing is stands,
but the fixtures do have mounts.)

I know it's not a lot of light
but it's not going to blow any circuits either.

Is this light kit good for anything?

With only six lights and 50 feet of wire, its not even good for landscapes, unless you live in a camper.

I would recommend just one work light if you are looking for an economical solution. Can be purchased from Home Depot for about $10.

For fifty bucks, you should be able to get 3 clamp on work lights, daylight balanced compact floros, a couple of sheets of foamcore and some duct tape. This would serve you better than the landscape lights.

I am not saying that this is all you need, lighting wise, to shoot a film, but it is a better buy.
