So who has been? How was it? What did you do there? Resort or adventure stuff?

Just trying to figure out honeymoon and this is turning into a more exciting option for me rather than bumming around a Mexican pool at an all inclusive for a week.

I went a few years ago and we went all over the place from mountain to beach to rainforest.

I loved the ZipLine tour by the volcano.

We rented a van and went all over and i think thats the way to see everything there is t offer.

I went a few years ago. It was my favorite vacation ever. It was NOT for a honeymoon, but I'd recommend a vacation to Witch's Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo anyday. It is low key but nice and relatively new. People are great. You can take day trips to the rainforest and volcano. Lots of other options available. I'd recommend checking out the website http://www.witchsrocksurfcamp.com. And, no... I don't work there ;-)

Costa Rica is cool, but you should also look at Panama. The big difference is that they have active volcanoes, but we have Spanish ruins... plus we use the US Dollar so you won't get mixed up in how many Colones is this and that... jeje. Anyways the terrain is similar and we have resorts/sites on beaches, islands, mountains, jungles... take your pick!

Anyways take a look at these sites and good luck!

I was there about two years ago. Great place to take a trip or honeymoon.

I'm glad to hear that.

I am having our travel agent do a break down of what it would cost to do 3 nights at the beach at an all inclusive so we can get our relaxation going on, but at the same time we are planning for 4-5 nights in the jungle area. The zip line tours, volcano tours, and canopy tours are really appealing. There is also a massive jungle wildlife hike that looks incredible, but we're looking at July where they average 14" of rain!

Airfare is $200 more per person than Mexico but the opportunity to adventure vacation versus sitting at a freaking pool is really the greater pull.

We've been planning a Costa Rica trip this year. I hear it is awesome - even better than Hawaii. Looking forward to it. Maybe hit up Panama too. :)

Need someone to film the honeymoon? I got a boat, fully equipped, in Panama!

Costa Rica is nice, try Los Suenos, Panama is great have spent the last five years there on and off.

I was in Costa Rica almost exactly 2 years ago. It wasn't honeymoon, but extended vacation with GF who is now wife.

I would recommend hitting Monteverde which is kind of hard to get to but worth it, and there are so many different types of places to see.

You can check out my blog from my travels there:

Very cool. We're looking forward to getting some information from our travel agent working out a complete package.

I think that this might really work out.
