Cosco TV's

I've been looking at these vizio HD TV's at cosco. There's a 37" 720p and a 42" 1080p, since broadcasting isn't 1080p, is there any reason to get one? Is blueray 1080p? Help me buy a TV! These vizios seem like a good value. I like sports and movies.

I just bought my brother the Vizio 37" 720p at Costo. HD broadcasts look phenomenal and the XBOX 360 is friggin luscious. Under 800 bones too. Thinking about buying one for myself too

Yeah I was stoked on that 37" but then I saw the 42 which is 1080p. I think blue ray and hd dvd are 1080p so it might be worth it. Only a grand.

So far, the reviews I've read say Vizio offers the best bang for the buck of all the sets.

I was considering a Vizio from Costco for a long time. I heard the screens are made by LG or Philips or something. A good company anyway. Then I did some more research and heard that the circuitry inside isn't so good. Was hearing that nearly half of all Vizio sets go bad 6 months after purchase and Costco is getting many, many returns. So, if this is true, I think Vizio sets are priced as low as they are for a reason.

I ended up buying (from Costco) a 55" Sony 1080P DLP Grand WEGA. Was a little pricier but it's a Sony.
I'm VERY happy. :)

Having worked for Costco, I can tell you that they have a VERY liberal return policy. It's one of the few places I'll take a chance on a no-name brand.

Costco gives you a 90 return policy and a 2 year warranty. I think the Vizio warranty is one year.

Yeah, I can see that happening.

I saw one lady come in in February with some dead poinsettias she bought for Christmas. Got her money back.

Hey, guess what. The 37" Vizio went belly-up. Dead as a doornail in under 4 weeks. Costco was awesome about the return - I am 2000 miles away and my brother is homebound - I called and gave them my Costco member number and a manager drove a new LCD out to my brother's apartment, set it up and took the dead one back - all within 3 hours of my phonecall. He gave my bro his business card and said just call if you need anything else. They gained a customer for life! (Hopefully the replacement Vizio will not tank on us)

Glad to hear that--I got that 42" Vizio. Lovin' it. Especially sports.
