I need to color correct and correct exposure on some footage because some footage is overexposed and white balance is a bit off. What can i use to get the best results in vegas? Any tips/tutorials on doing so. thanks



i have 2 clips one clip with the right exposure and one that is slighty overexposed, i need them to look the same.

IM using the brightness contrast tool in vegas 7.0, When i make the overexposed clip darker it makes the clip have a darker color(contrast) How much is usually the average contrast change when you change number in darkness. The contrast is always a more solid color in the the corrected clip i need them to look like the original how can i?

I know if i make the clip brighter it reduces quality i heard, if i make the contrast brighter does that reduce quality to? Make a clip darker brightness and darker contrast does it take quality away like making it brighter?

Anyone on here good at exposure change corrections? Like in the middle of filming and you change exposure and overexposue it a bit. Can i send someone footage and they correct it for me. Any help is much appreciated. thanks
 
I would highly recommend "Color Correction in Sony Vegas" by Glenn Chan and Douglas Spotted Eagle. This will get you on the right track regarding how to use the tools within Sony Vegas.

I started shooting weddings three years ago and wasted a lot of time playing around with Vegas trying to get my footage to look its best. That all changed after getting their DVD. :)
