Correcting Shutter look for 120fps to 24fps

Hello, I haven't been able to find a definitive answer in my forum searches. I'm attempting to "speed up" 120fps footage from an Alexa to 24fps in FCPX. When I do this, it creates the "jittery" shutter look that I don't desire. Is there a way to correct this look directly in FCPX or must I use Motion, AE, or a plugin to fix?

I've tried fixing the video quality with "Frame Blending" and "Optical Flow," but neither seems to correct the issue.

Thanks!

I believe, in general, that all NLE systems operate at the standard 30 fps. 24fps videwo is still at 30 fps with manipulation to adapt to the 30 fps rate. . .with a resulting "film-look" stutter (or hick-up). Why don't you convert the 120 fps footage to 30 fps and see if this doesn't correct your problem.

To shoot at 120fps you use a faster shutter speed (otherwise you won't have enough time in a second to record 120 frames)
On slowing down to 24fps you would need to compensate the shutter speed, otherwise it will appear to strobe (your problem)

A quick dose of RSMB from revisionFX will be just what the doctor ordered...

Any tips for applying motion blur? I've tried many variations with RSMB, but the footage still turns out less than desirable. I feel like we're stuck with 120fps.

What shutter speed is the original footage? If you shoot at 1/120s (equivalent to a 360-degree shutter) then when you slow it down to 24fps it shouldn't be any more jittery than regular 24p.
