Correct effect to use for white logo

I have a logo with white sections. When I import from Photoshop with no background, a white background is added. What effect can I use in Premiere to delete the white background but leave the white inside the logo.
thanks

No. I converted to a .jpeg.
Also just tried putting logo on a green background and using the green screen key. This seems to work.
What is the advantage of PSD and how is the file size. My experience with Premiere Pro and pictures is terrible.

A jpeg does not support the alpha channel, so you can't use it to cleanly overlay a graphic. An alpha channel is simply one channel of the image that has a greyscale map of where the image should be transparent, and how much so. So, where your logo shows the checkerboard background in photoshop will be represented by black, and the body of the logo will be represented by white. Soft edges, or drop shadows that are meant to be only partially transparent will be represented by varying shades of grey. If you try and do it with a chroma key, you'll have a rough, jagged edge that will take much longer to render.

In premiere pro, it couldn't be easier. Since you have the logo in a format for which photoshop reads the alpha channel, save it as a .psd file and import it into premiere. Drop it on video track 2 or higher, and it will automatically key it over whatever is beneath. If you need to position or resize it, you can either do that in photoshop by placing it in a document that is your frame size, or you can do it in Premiere using the motion filter.
