Corporate Video Advice

This newbie will be shooting a corporate video inside a large room. Unfortunately, I will not have opportunity to visit the location prior to shoot as it is out of state (first mistake:cry:). There will be traditional interview shots with 3 point lighting. However, my concern is the rest. It will involve filming an amputee walking, with shots from the frontal and sagittal planes. My recollection of the location is high ceilings (~12-14 feet), fluorescent overhead lamps, and windows facing North and East. My concerns are how to illuminate a large area to capture the amputee walking and how to balance different color sources, all on a budget. Here's my initial thoughts to hopefully keep things simple:

1. Replace existing ceiling fluorescent lamps with Philips TL950 overhead as they are cheap and have 98 CRI. I would also clean the overhead fixture lenses at the same time.

2. Build DIY yourself lights using the same Philips TL950 lamps in these fixtures (x3=24 lamps) with eggcrates added. These would be positioned on lighting stands. Idea came from this thread. These Lights of America flood lights may be another option but would require gels.

3. Rent/buy a color temperature meter to determine daylight temperature coming in windows. Correct natural window light with appropriate gels.

4. If necessary, add additional overhead lighting. Maybe bulbs like these 23w 5000K CFLs in a commercial light string hanging in 3 or 4 rows from the drop ceiling with neodymium magnets softened with 6" or 8" paper lanterns. Strings from magnets would allow the height of the lights to be easily adjusted.

Your advice is desired! Or odd questions that I have (perhaps off topic):

1. Using a GH2. Do I white balance to 18% or a white card (will use a X-Rite Color Checker)?
2. Would like to film amputee walking approximately 30 feet. Will lighting plan above be enough, particularly #2, or is more light needed?
3. Output is DVD. Do I film in HD and export to DVD res after editing is finished?
4. Can I view sample footage for color accurately on 2010 Macbook Pro? I would like to use the MBP to ensure the GH2 color balance is correct.
5. Any tricks to positioning the lighting for such a large corporate scene (at least 15' x 30').

Often lurk here, but now I will be shooting next week so advice is welcome. I don't want a career in video/film but I do take pride in my work. Employer did not budget enough so I am taking the project on with short notice. The good news is I have three days with the models to get a half hour video right. Thanks to the people who help others here unselfishly.
