what id the easiest, safest and most secure way? Inexpensive also :) Should I just do the old "Mail it to myself " certified mail bit
 
I seem to recall past discussions where it was stated that the "certified mail" approach doesn't really stand up in court.

Most secure way is probably through the Writer's Guild, but that'll cost you a few bucks. Details of how much should be on their website.

Whether or not you want to pay comes down to how serious you want to be about protecting your work, I suppose.

And, by the way, it's "copyright", as in "the right to copy" :)
 
naaa just hit the cpyright website, fill out the forms and pay the fee.
Handing it to a copyright atty is of course the best way to do this. Doing it online is the cheapest.
