Copying and pasting between projects problems.

Have a strange problem with Premiere Pro 2, don’t know if it’s a bug or not.

I’m cutting a fairly large project that’s split into about four PP2 project files. Now I have to make a master project with all four in a row together. I copy from each of the four projects and paste into the master project, everything copies ok into my new project except for a few problems.

1. premiere pro sometimes can’t find the audio in the audio tracks so I have to manually make the audio files offline and then re link them for the project to recognize it

2. My transition effects don’t copy over no matter how many times I try.

Is this a bug in Premier Pro 2, has anyone had problems with copying content from one project to another by means of copying and pasting.

Hey Genesis, are you copying individual files, or entire sequences? And is everything from the same project?

You can just drag the sequences from the project window into one master sequence. No need for copying and pasting. I have copy and pasted small segments from one sequence to another without problem, but for a large transfer I just drop the entire sequence into a new sequence.

Hey thanks for the quick reply.

Everything Is actually from four separate projects, I’m copying and pasting all four individual projects into one master project one by one and having the problem transitions not being copied over and some audio files losing the audio data and forcing me to relink the audio in the project.

Any suggestions?

You can import (File > Import) your four separate projects into a new project, don't copy and paste. My understanding is that this is the only way to be sure you're transferring the complete sequence and clip information.

Hey thanks, the file>import technique works like a charm.

Thanks for the great feedback everyone.

Cheers
